Chemical nickel - The currentless process

Due to its amorphous structure, the nickel-phosphorus coating exhibits a high level of corrosion resistance in relation to a large number of corrosive media. Furthermore, the autocatalytic process offers the advantage of enabling the nickel plating of even highly complex workpiece shapes with uniform coating distribution. Additionally, the coating offers good wear resistance, which can be significantly improved through targeted heat treatment.

  • Phosphorous content 10-12%
  • Hardness in the deposited state 550 HV 0.1
  • After heat treatment ~ 900 HV 0.1
  • Coating thickness depending on requirement, 0.003 to 0.050 mm
  • Corrosion test DIN EN ISO 9227 - NSS > 480h (new standard)
  • Expansion coefficient 12 to 13*10-6 1/K
  • Elasticity module 150 to 200 kN/mm2
  • Tensile strength 280 to 450 N/mm2
